MWUFLL Kicks Off Season with Exciting Opening Weekend
Halifax, NS - September 17, 2025 - The Maritime Women’s University Field Lacrosse League (MWUFLL) launched its 2025 season with an action-packed opening weekend across Nova Scotia.
The Acadia Axewomen and Saint Mary’s Huskies faced off in a doubleheader, splitting the series in thrilling fashion. On Friday night at Saint Mary’s, the Huskies edged out a narrow 8-7 victory on home turf. The Axewomen responded on Sunday afternoon in Wolfville, earning a decisive 10-5 win in front of their home crowd.
In Antigonish on Saturday evening, the Dalhousie Tigers opened their season with a strong showing, defeating the host St. Francis Xavier X-Women 9-6.
The MWUFLL season continues next weekend with more matchups as teams battle for early-season momentum.
